Patricia John’s book Thursday’s Bride is a refreshing book teaching us that God has other plans for our lives no matter how much we fight against it. Rosmanda’s character tries to protect her heart and reputation by leaving her hometown and moving in with her aunt and marries Levi’s brother even though there is no love between them. Her husband dies and leaves her with 2 twin girls to raise and she blames Levi for his death. Levi has been in love with Rosmanda and leaves the house when his brother marries her so as not to cause conflict. Will Rosmanda be able to forgive Levi and realize she loves Levi too or will she give everything up and return home to her parents. You will not be disappointed in this book. I fell in love with each character and found myself cheering both main characters on. I received this ARC copy from Patricia Johns for an honest review. Patricia I loved the book.

Bringing Maggie Home

Bringing Maggie Home by Kim Vogel Sawyer

 

One story that will have your emotions running in different directions. Story of faith, forgiveness and love intermixed with the characters. The Story came alive for me and I felt what each character dealt with in the story.
Well written and a great read.

This book gives you an idea of how the Amish celebrate Christmas and second Christmas. Included is a few recipes. Very I interesting book.

The Trespasser

The Trespasser by Jennifer Spredemann

I am in awe of this book. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I finished it in one day. The characters tugged at my heart strings and made me love them and cheer the on. The book did have a few unexpected turns and I was pleased with the outcome. The book teaches us that God is in control and has a way of bringing others into our lives when we least expect it.

What is your favorite cookie to bake for Christmas?

Sugar cookies! It reminds me of baking with my mom when I was little. I loved decorating them.

Do you have a favorite Christmas movie that you make sure to watch every year?

Yes! We always watch “Die Hard” (the first one, of course). It’s been a tradition for many years. It was one of my father’s favorite movies, and it always brings back happy memories. In fact, my son Matt and I pretty much know the lines by heart, and we like to quote them during the movie. (I’m sure that’s annoying to the other watchers!)

Did any of your own Christmas traditions get written into this novella?

The only tradition I included was writing Christmas cards, which the Amish do. I love to send out Christmas cards every year. Lately, I have ordered cards with cats on them. What a surprise, right? I send them out to friends and family members and I always include a family photo that we had taken that year, along with the boys’ school photos. I already have decided what photo to include in this year’s card.
